Literacy Volunteers Offer Training

From the Star Gazette:

Literacy Volunteers of Chemung and Schuyler Counties, a component of the Economic Opportunity Program, is conducting a Tutor Training workshop in Elmira, beginning Sept 16.

Literacy Volunteers provides one-to-one tutoring for adults in basic reading and conversational English. The training consists of eight sessions and provides instruction in the techniques of tutoring, lesson planning and goal setting.

In order to take part in the tutor training, pre-registration and an interview are required by Sept. 9.
