Volunteers Needed: IMRRC

I'm sure you're wondering what IMRRC is, right?  Well, let me tell you!  IMRRC is the International Racing Research Center located in Watkins Glen and they are looking to find a lot of volunteers!  They need Assistants (up to 20 volunteers) to help with the daily operation of the center and cleaners (1-2 volunteers) to help clean the facility, remove the trash, dust exhibits and help store items.  See below for more details:

Front Desk/Greeter – The volunteer will be at the Research Center’s front desk to greet visitors, answer phones, and answer questions. Must have pleasant appearance and be cordial and professional to all visitors.

Docent/Guide – The volunteer will give guided tours of the Research Center, be able to answer detailed questions about exhibits and operate the audio/visual equipment. Must be articulate and familiar with the Research Center and its holdings and finding aids. Must have pleasant appearance and be cordial and professional to all visitors

Researcher - The volunteer will be familiar enough with information in databases and the physical archives to aide requestors in locating research items, photos, articles, etc., through email or personal inquiries, and provide photocopies as requested.

Data Entry – The volunteer will input data into various computer software programs, for purposes of bookkeeping, collection databases, etc. Must be PC literate and familiar with MS Office.

Cleaner/Floater – The volunteer will help keep the museum clean and presentable to the public. Help in storing of items, dusting, and removal of trash, etc.

Filing – The volunteer will keep research files up to date by adding to the files and keeping them alphabetized or indexed.

Special Event Aide – The volunteer will help at any of the Research Center’s fundraisers, programs, and other special events, including those at Watkins Glen International. They will help with set-up and take-down and interact with the public.
