  1. Volunteering that requires the use of a personal vehicle at todays fuel prices is a real problem,.31 cents per mile just doesn't get it..Lets have fewer banquets and up the ante for volunteers that have to use their personal vehicles.
THE ALTERNATIVE IS JUST SAY NO....

  3. Very impressive..RSVP once again proves to be an up-and-coming agency, meeting the needs of its community members and utilizing the latest trends in technology. I encourage seniors to take part in blogging through this new feature! Janet

  4. On gas reimbursement- 31 cents per mile more than covers the cost of gas. Do the math: 20 mi/gal & a 20 mile trip = one gallon X 31 cents = $6.20 !!!! Well under even the highest price of gas we reached.

But there is a point on the banquets, I don't volunteer for a meal, a pin (what do you do w it?), or even the recognition. I do it because I enjoy helping the community.

  5. I agree that we do not volunteer for pins and dinners, but as a new volunteer-not knowing many other volunteers-I really think it's nice to get together once in a while.
ps. Like the new blog. Good job. The trick is keeping it current and viable-at least that's the problem I have with mine.
